Gratitude Garland

Even though Thanksgiving has come and gone, and the bursts of autumn color are winding down, I wanted to share one last little bit of the season, because **it's my favorite.** :)
And also because I did something new with the kids this year that I love.  I really wanted to foster an attitude of gratitude with them, so I made them think a little bit.

Y'all.  This is one of my favorite things I've ever done.  It's not the perfectly printed or stenciled banner that I may or may not have had in mind; it's better.  It's in their sweet little handwriting and spelling, and one of the girls even put it together while I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

It was my favorite part of our simple Thanksgiving decorations.  Even though we are slowly changing the house over to Christmas, I don't want to take it down, and when I do, I will keep it.  Yes, I am sentimental.  Can't wait to add more next year!

The week of Thanksgiving, I put paper triangles on the kitchen table, so the kids could write things for which they were grateful.  Some wrote more than others, and some needed a little forcing encouragement. ;)

If you promise not to tell, I will share a couple of my favorites, or five or eight.

"I am thankful for being able to read and wright."
"The Piano."
"For our big yard and playground and playhouse-in-renovation."
"Thankful for my dogs, Woody and Lexy."
"For Bekah whom plays with me all the time."
"My family."
"For the fun we have together."

So. Precious.

Little effort, big impact.  At least on me. :)
And yet another reminder, that it truly is, the little things.
